Humans vs. Zombies
Wow. So tonight on Ohio University's campus at least 300 students played humans vs. zombies. I was going to play until I found out how ridiculously serious they take it. First, I needed a nerf gun. So Gus asked some random person if he had an extra. He said he bought one for 20$ and "reconstucted" it and he wanted 30$ bucks for it because of the reconstruction and because we were taking up his time. I laughed, thinking about what my father would do if someone tried to sell him a plastic thingy that shoots styrofoam. My dad does NOT get ripped off. And I don't either. We kept walking. As we were walking, we came across the "good doctor." Apparently he heals you if you die...mkay...right. To add to how dumb that is, he had a fake british accent and didn't finish his sentences. AWKWARD. So I admit, I did try to play this game..but as soon as I got cornered by zombies with no gun, I realized I probably shouldn't. So I sat down and watched this unfold. The humans were at the bottom of the hill and the zombies at the top. 20 humans vs. 50 zombies? This was gonna be good. Probably my favorite part of waiting for the "attack" was a "human" who took on the leadership role and kept yelling at everyone to "get in defense position" wow...greatest thing ever. That guy is seriously crazy! So after about 20 minutes, the zombies ran down the hill and attacked the humans on all sides, killing over half of their group. It was so awesome. So yeah, that was my first experience with humans vs. zombies. Crazy people who think it's fun to shoot eachother with nerf guns and yell "BRAINS!!!!!!"

This blog is about food.
I had a bad experience with the cafeteria yesterday. Everything tasted disgusting. It's bad enough that my healthy choices are limited...usually the food isn't so bad. Healthy or not, I usually enjoy my dinner, so I'm thinking it was just me. I got pasta with tomato sauce. It was gross. Then I went to make a sandwich. I got hummus and cucumber and spinach and tomato. This was my kind of sandwich. The hummus was so garlicy, I have a sore on my tounge from it! I love garlic, but that was just...ewww. So I got some broccoli-cheese soup and managed to eat a small bowl of it. I'm hoping today will go better! :-)

Feeling sad the weekend is over. Feeling stuck and overwhelmed. I want to get out of here...I've been indoors all day besides church. Need to relax, get coffee, take some pictures but I don't have enough time. I have a really hard Psychology exam tomorrow and a speech outline due. The 5 hours of homework I did yesterday barely made a dent. Can't wait to go home next weekend...

I've had a busy week...
Fire alarm went off in our dorm at 11pm earlier this week because someone sprayed hairspray too close to the fire alarmy thingy...so that was interesting. Like two fire trucks came! Classes have taken over my life for the most part, lots of homework and studying to do this weekend. But the weather is crisp and beautiful! I love fall so much!!! Gus took me to a really nice dinner last night just for fun so that was really nice! I'm spending the whole day in the coffee shop on campus studying, I really like all the noise of the coffee machines working. It's weird I know but it makes me feel like I'm at home <3

one thing on mind....
Lyrics to The Best Day :
(Written by Taylor Swift)
I'm five years old it's getting cold i've got my big coat on
i hear your laugh and look up smiling at you i run and run
past the pumpkin patch and the tractor rides look now the sky is gold
i hug your legs and fall asleep on the way home
i don't know why all the trees change in the fall
i know you're not scared of anything at all
don't know if snow white's house is near or far away
but i know i had the best day with you today
i'm thirteen now and don't know how my friends could be so mean
i come home crying and you hold me tight and grab the keys
and we drive and drive until we found a town far enough away
and we talk and window shop till i forgot all their names
i don't know who i'm gonna talk to now at school
but i know i'm laughing on the car ride home with you
don't know how long it's gonna take to feel ok
but i know i had the best day with you today
i have an excellent father
his strength is making me stronger
god smiles on my little sister
inside and out she's better than i am
i grew up in a pretty house and i had space to run
and i had the best days with you
there is a video i found from back when i was three
you set up a paint set in the kitchen and you're talking to me
it's the age of princesses and pirate ships and the seven dwarfs
daddy's smart and you're the prettiest lady in the whole wide world
now i know why all the trees change in the fall
i know you were on my side even when i was wrong
and i love you for giving me your eyes
staying back and watching me shine and i didn't know if you knew
so i'm taking this chance to say that i had the best day with you today

Monday, September 28
I went away to my grandparents house this weekend and had a lot of fun as always! I love going over there! Over the weekend I did some thinking, and I've got to make some changes here. For the last 3 weeks I've let a certain someone push me around and I'm not going to let that happen anymore. If I'm uncomfortable with something she is doing or something bothers me, I'm gonna say something because I have the right to. I shouldn't have to pretend like I'm okay when I'm not. Other than that, it's just a typical monday around here.
Waiting for the weekend...

Thursday
Today was a very good day! I have taken up calligraphy and I really love it! Tomorrow's friday and I'm really exicted about that! I just got a package from mom and dad and I love all of the cards I get from my grandparents! Gus and I got caught in the pouring rain while he was walking me home, but we didn't mope about it...we splashed in the puddles instead!!! It was fun! We also met a girl at dinner who transferred from Columbus State to Ohio U. Her story was interesting; She was in her senior year of college student teaching and had a bad experience-some kids weren't taking her seriously because she was a student teacher. She now goes to OU and is in pharmacy. While I respect her decision, I think she could have turned her bad experience into a positive one. Working with children may be challanging, but if you're truly passionate about it, you can overcome the bad and learn from it. Just some major related thoughts :-)
